Have you wondered about getting a job as a police officer. Sure, maybe it's something you've always wanted to do, to protect and serve and all that, but is this the right area to do that?
If you've been considering a career as a police officer, Washington State isn't a bad place to be one.

Washington State ranked 8th place for state to be a police officer. Maybe not as good as the number one ranking California or even Washington DC, but certainly better than most other states.
Worst state to be a police officer is Arkansas followed by Alaska and West Virginia.
Opportunity and competition, law enforcement training requirements and job hazards and protection all went into this list.

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

The 2020 County Health Rankings values were calculated using mortality counts from the 2016-2018 National Center for Health Statistics. The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.

Using March 2019 data from the Social Security Administration, Stacker compiled a list of the most popular names in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C., according to their 2018 SSA rankings. The top five boy names and top five girl names are listed for each state, as well as the number of babies born in 2018 with that name. Historically common names like Michael only made the top five in three states, while the less common name Harper ranks in the top five for 22 states.
