WSU Researchers Discover Vaccine-Resistant Covid-Like Virus
(Seattle, WA) -- Researchers have discovered a new virus similar to COVID-19. A team from Washington State University says that the virus found in a Russian bat is likely capable of infecting humans and resistant to antibodies produced by the current COVID vaccines. Virologists are dubbing the virus as Khosta-2, which like SARS-CoV-2, can use its spike protein to infect cells by attaching to a receptor protein found throughout human cells.
