The City of Wenatchee now has a new ordinance on its books which prohibits certain animals from being used in traveling performances within its jurisdictional boundaries. The council Thursday authorized a contract with Absher Construction to complete the undertaking, known as the Wenatchee Convention Center Expansion Project.

The heavy interest comes after three of the four city council races in November had a single unopposed candidate.

The grant would total to $1,529,127.29, which would be extended into 2024.
