This Typical Looking Sandwich Could Make a Lot of Money in WA

I found myself in Puyallup over the weekend. As often when we travel we hit up restaurants that we don't have in the Yakima Valley to order something that we may not have on any menu we have here, just to see what all is out there. This sandwich you see here looks pretty typical. It could be anything, really. But it was pretty mind blowing and it's something that could easily be recreated here in Yakima if anyone is looking for a new item for their menu.

We found this at The Ram Restaurant & Brewery. They have a nice menu and they brew their own beer so that's always good news for me.

We were there during Burgerama where they feature some new burgers on the menu for, what I can only assume, is for a limited time.

One item that was featured with this Pho Burger Dip. Anything pho is always intriguing as I love pho.

Pho Burger Dip
Smashed Black Angus Beef burger seasoned with savory Pho spice. With sliced jalapeños, garlic caramelized onions, cilantro, and hoisin sauce. Served on a French roll and with Pho broth for dipping.

It tasted great, though a bit spicer than I thought with the sliced jalapenos (they weren't de-seeded) but it was a fun idea to take everything I love about pho and make a burger out of it.

Though we don't have a Ram here in Yakima it would probably be pretty easy for someone to recreate this and have it on the menu for people who want that familiar pho taste without the need for a punch bowl-sized noodle soup. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but it is a lot to manage sometimes.

BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery.
