11 Suspects Arrested in Bellingham Street Drug Raids

The conclusion of a multi-month investigation led to the arrests.
Bellingham Police, Whatcom County Sheriff's Deputies and Department of Corrections were part of the investigation.
In early November the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office, Police, and the Whatcom Gang and Drug Task Force began to investigate growing complaints of open-air drug sales and use in the downtown Bellingham area.
Tuesday, January 7th. these agencies were able to arrest 11 individuals Prior to these arrests, Officers set up surveillance on a small RV being used by Satan Netah Wey (his legal name) to facilitate the operation.
He was located near the central business district in Bellingham, and in December Officers raided the trailer and found numerous drug-related items, including:
•" Over 100 small packages of suspected fentanyl packaged for suspected street-level drug sales, packages weighed approximately 226 gross weight grams;
• Several small packages of suspected methamphetamine packaged for suspected street-level drug sales weighing 7 gross weight grams;
• small quantity of suspected fentanyl-laced counterfeit oxycontin pills;
• 17 Suboxone strips;
• small amount of suspected psilocybin mushrooms; and
• over $4,000 in small denomination US currency believed to be drug proceeds, including pre-recorded WGDTF “buy money”
Then, on Tuesday, law enforcement officers arrested Wey and ten other people who were part of the ring--including those who sold drugs to undercover officers.

The WCSO says Homeland Security, and DEA Agents also were part of the task force. Officials say more arrests are likely to come.
