We Can’t Wait to Sink Our Teeth into These 8 Menu Items From Washington James Beard Finalists

June 10th will be a very special day for 8 Washington state restaurants.

They were taste-takingly selected as amongst the best of the best restaurants in America for 2024. (Go ahead, groan at my pun. You get a free pass from me today!)

The finalist nominees for the prestigious food honor, the James Beard Awards, were announced on April 3.

While numerous media outlets across the state have been regaling us with the names of these restaurants, I haven’t seen anything about the best featured items on the menus at these restaurants.

That makes me want to dig in, pardon this food pun, too!

All but seven of these finalists are located in Seattle. I wish other cities were being represented, but at least this gives me something to put on my “to-do list” the next time I’m in the Emerald City!

In order to be selected as a finalist for a James Beard Award, they must be nominated. There are James Beard Award Scouts who submit their recommendations. Restaurants, chefs, and food authors can also enter on their own. After results are tallied from a secret voting ballot by the award selection committee’s judges, finalists are announced, and the award ceremony is held in some place cool, like the Lyric Opera in Chicago.

Now that we know which Washington state restaurants have been chosen as the finalists for the James Beard Awards 2024, let’s get into what we should order at each of them.
